Self tapping screws do exactly what the name suggests. They tap their own threads as you drive them into a hole. You do not need to thread the hole beforehand. Just drill a pilot hole and drive the screw. This saves time and cuts labor costs on any assembly line.
The tip is sharp and has cutting edges. As the screw turns, the tip digs into the material and removes it. The thread then forms a snug fit. No pre tapped hole required. The screw creates its own path.
Flat Head: 82 degree countersunk shape. Sits level with the surface after installation. Ideal for finished products where you do not want screws sticking out.
Wafer Head: Low and wide. Clamps down hard but does not stand tall. Commonly used for pocket holes and thin sheet metal.
Pan Head: Domed on top, flat on the bottom. The most common choice for general assembly jobs.
Hex Head: Six sides. Use a wrench or socket. Good when you need extra torque.
Truss Head: Wide and low. Spreads pressure over a larger area without adding much height.
Button Head: Low rounded dome. Looks clean. Works well where you want a lower head height.
Fine Thread: More threads per inch. Holds better in thin metal and hard plastics. Harder to pull out.
Coarse Thread: Fewer threads per inch. Engages faster. Good for softer materials like wood and regular plastic.
Metric M2 M3 M4 M5 M6. Standard lengths from 6mm to 50mm. Need a different size We can make it for you.
Grade 4.8 for everyday jobs. Grade 6.8 when you need more strength. Grade 8.8 for heavy work. Grade 10.9 and 12.9 for the toughest applications.
Self tapping screws are used in electronics cases, wood furniture, trailer floors, plastic boxes, sheet metal panels, car interior trim, signs and displays, and general factory assembly where speed is key.
We check every batch. Threads get gauged. Hardness gets tested. We offer different strength grades and can make custom head styles and special materials.

A: Self tapping screws tap their own internal mating threads into materials as they are driven into a pilot hole, eliminating the separate pre-tapping process, reducing labor costs, and speeding up assembly.
A: We manufacture Flat, Wafer, Pan, Hex, Truss, and Button head styles, compatible with Phillips, Slotted, Hex, and Torx drive configurations.
A: Fine threads feature more threads per inch for superior pull-out resistance in thin sheet metal and hard plastics. Coarse threads engage faster and are best suited for softer materials like wood and regular plastics.
A: Fasteners can be produced in Stainless Steel (304, 316), Brass, Galvanized Steel, Black Oxide Steel, and Aluminium, with strength ratings ranging across Grade 4.8, 6.8, 8.8, 10.9, and 12.9.
A: Yes. In addition to standard metric sizes from M2 to M6 and lengths from 6mm to 50mm, we offer full OEM and custom production based on provided technical drawings or physical samples.
A: YH Fastener is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 10012 standards. Every production run undergoes thread gauge checks, hardness testing, and full batch quality inspection prior to global shipment.
