A machine screw is a fully threaded fastener. It does not cut its own thread like a self tapping screw. Instead, it fits into a pre tapped hole or threads into a nut. The thread runs continuously from the head to the tip. This design gives you a secure hold and allows for repeated removal and reinstallation.
| Head | Best for |
|---|---|
| Pan | General assembly. Flat underside. Wide bearing surface. |
| Flat | Countersunk. Sits flush with the surface. |
| Hex | Wrench drive. High torque capability. |
| Button | Low dome. Clean appearance. |
| Cheese | Straight sides. Good for limited clearance. |
| Truss | Wide and low. Spreads load on soft material. |
| Round | Simple dome. General use. |
| Fillister | Taller head. Deeper drive engagement. |
| Oval | Countersunk with rounded top. Decorative. |
| Drive | Tool | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Phillips | Phillips screwdriver | Most common, self centering |
| Slotted | Flat blade screwdriver | Simple, light duty |
| Hex socket | Allen key | High torque, tight access |
| Torx | Torx driver | Max torque, no cam out |
| Material | When to use |
|---|---|
| 304 Stainless | Outdoor, moisture, general corrosion |
| 316 Stainless | Marine, saltwater, chemical exposure |
| Brass | Electronics, non-magnetic, decorative |
| Steel | General industrial, cost effective |
| Aluminium | Lightweight, non-magnetic |
| Bronze | Marine, bearing applications |
| Copper | Electrical conductivity |
| Grade | Tensile strength | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 4.8 | 400 MPa | Light duty |
| 6.8 | 600 MPa | Medium load |
| 8.8 | 800 MPa | Heavy duty |
| 10.9 | 1000 MPa | High strength |
| 12.9 | 1200 MPa | Maximum strength |
Metric: M2, M3, M4, M5, M6. Lengths from 3mm to 100mm. Coarse thread is standard. Fine thread available for thin materials. Inch sizes also available.
ISO 9001 and ISO 10012 certified. Thread gauging and dimensional inspection on every batch. Hardness testing on all heat treated parts.
Yes. They require a pre tapped hole or a nut. They do not cut their own threads.
Pan head. It is the default choice for most applications.
304 or 316 stainless steel. 316 offers better saltwater resistance.
It is the strength grade. 8.8 indicates 800 MPa tensile strength.
Yes, if you use a threaded insert or a nut on the back side. Do not drive them directly into wood.
Yes. Send us your drawing. We make what you need.
